Many people are searching for that person who will always hold them first in their heart… who will be dependable in difficult or awkward situations… who will help in raising dependents… who will share a life… who will offer play and adventure… who will offer support and nurturance… who will fulfill needs or desires… who will be someone to imagine, fantasize and create with… someone to share the less acceptable parts of themselves with… someone to hold… someone to experience emotional intimacy with… someone to have romantic, playful, and nurturing sex with…someone to help them to better understand her/his self. Couples therapy is a place to create a more fulfilling, accepting, and meaningful relationship.

A lasting happiness and sense of felt security arrives when a couples courageously allows themselves to be vulnerable enough with each other so as to seen for who they truly are... I work from an attachment base, which means that my counseling helps couples to grow a secure attachment (bond) with each other. I help people to deeply attune to the emotional needs of the relationship so that each individual's authentic self is known and nurtured.

I offer Couples Counseling to any set of people who are looking to expand upon or to heal in their relationship… a couple is something defined by the clients and held with respect, support and acceptance by the therapist. I provide a safe place for people of all sexual, cultural, spiritual, and gender identities to work on and to improve their relationship.

The Couples Counseling that I offer has the goal of improving a relationship. While in my safe therapeutic space, I will supportively hold your ambiguity, fear, or hurt, while gently pushing for the growth of a healthy and connected relationship.

Relationships are often tested at different times in our lives. There are many developmental milestones that can leave a couple in needs of support such as the birth of a child or the death of a parent. Couples counseling offers a place to process life changes where the therapist can ensure that emotional expression and beliefs are relayed in a way that helps the partner to hear the message with less defensiveness and with increased compassion and empathy.

We do very little to educate directly about various relationship dynamics, but we as a country have a wide array of influences that suggest how we should be interacting. Couples often benefit from my counseling as I can offer a place for the couple to stop being overly involved with what society suggests they “should do” so that they can allow themselves to create the unique relationship best suited to their specific needs and desires.
